Meet our 2018 Speakers!


"Finding a Community in Christ". We have six dynamic speakers from across the country joining us in Salt Lake City August 31st- September 3rd to discuss our theme and issues young adults face in their daily lives and how we can find community in Christ.



Fr. Mario Giannopoulos

Fr. Mario Giannopoulos is the gracious host of this year's conference, doubling down on his passionate commitment to young adult ministry. Fr. Mario worked as the youth director for the Parish of Salt Lake City prior to his 25 years as a Priest. He has spent nearly every summer serving at Orthodox camps where he has inspired campers and staff members alike to enthusiastically embrace their Faith. He currently serves the parish of Holy Trinity Prophet Elias in Salt Lake City and is thrilled to be part of continuing to grow Young Adult Ministry throughout the country.


Meet Niko Savas!

As a proud millennial, Niko uses his love of the Church and passion for digital media to make Orthodoxy accessible for the younger generations. Niko graduated from Holy Cross Seminary and has dedicated himself and his career to youth and young adult engagement in the Church. He currently works for Orthodox Christian Network where he does speaking engagements discussing the integration of digital media into our Orthodox Church. He loves rocking a dope pair of high top converse and continuing to grow his collection of bandanas.


Meet Fr. Constantine!

Rev Father Constantine Lazarakis grew up in Salt Lake City, attending Prophet Elias and Holy Trinity. Today he serves at the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church in Southampton, New York. He holds a Masters Degree in Divinity from the Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology. Prior to his assignment in Southampton, he was the Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries for the Direct Archdiocesan District. He has served as director to several Orthodox Christian camp programs, including Ionian Village. He lives in Southampton with his wife and three children.


Meet Christy Buck!

Christy is the Executive Director of the Mental Health Foundation of West Michigan. Christy has 31 years of experience working in the mental health field and is passionate about raising mental health awareness, bullying and suicide prevention. She was recently named as one of 2018's Most Influential Women in West Michigan. Christy and her husband Tim are proud parents of three amazing children, Demetrios, Katerina, and Isabella.
